Marathon Development has been in the business of building and consulting on senior housing complexes for more than twenty years. They cater to a variety of facilities, including hospitals and care facilities requiring recommendations on property regulations and permitting.

The Marathon team prides itself on performing exceptional work driven by strong project leadership and a deep understanding of the industry.

Project Objectives

The Marathon team approached efelle because they felt that their current website was out of date—they were finding it hard to drum up business using their online marketing assets and were feeling dependent on word-of-mouth leads. They were looking for a more modern web presence anchored by an attractively designed website.

Project objectives included constructing a timeless, eye-grabbing, and user-friendly website theme that would drive businesses to Marathon’s contact form. Marathon also wanted an easy-to-update website content management system (CMS) to simplify ongoing updating and editing work.

Website Design and Development Successes

Our homepage design for Marathon features a clean layout accented with fun service icons and high-contrast sectioning. The masthead area features a full-screen photo and guides the user to the space below; here, the user is introduced to Marathon’s main services, with the brand’s red highlighting each offering on hover.

Next up on the homepage, users can view a few featured projects from the company’s portfolio, with a call-to-action button sitting smartly below the initial selection. Testimonials and blog announcements round out the homepage design, which is framed by a call-to-action footer space encouraging users to contact the Marathon team.

The interior pages are equally navigable and make great use of white space to lead the eye down each page. Call-to-action sections featured toward the bottom of most interior pages create clear user paths and encourage further discovery, while the primary call to action—“Contact”—is always available from the main navigation menu.

Built on FusionCMS—one of the most customizable content management systems on the market—this website is super easy to update. Content blocks from one area can be pulled into other pages with only a couple clicks, making establishing relationships across the site a breeze. For instance, the “Featured Projects” section on the homepage pulls from the “Portfolio” area in the CMS and can be swapped out in seconds—no duplicate content entry required.

This website is also optimized to look great on all devices and is search-engine friendly. In addition to the homepage, service pages, and project pages, we also designed and developed staff profile pages, an about page template, a blog space, and custom contact forms.
