We Designed and Developed a Stunning New Website for a Premier Engineering Consulting Firm in the Puget Sound

Barghausen is a leading multi-disciplinary engineering consulting firm offering services in a variety of areas, including civil engineering, land surveying, land use planning, and more. They are headquartered just outside of Seattle in Kent, WA, and have a number of branches up and down the west coast. Their client list includes private developers and commercial companies alike, and includes such household names as IKEA, Kroger, Costco, and Shell.

Project Background

The Barghausen team sought out efelle’s design and development services because they felt their current website was dated and not a lot of fun to explore. They take pride in their company culture, best-in-class services, client dedication, and hard-work attitude, and they felt their web assets were doing a poor job of reflecting this.

What they needed was a website with “pop” that could not only show off the amazing work completed by their team, but that would also attract potential employees.

Website Design and Development Efforts

Our homepage design opens with a punch; featuring a gorgeous masthead video overlayed with a unique “typing” feature, the above-the-fold area feels both branded and fresh.

As part of the design process, we spiffed up the client’s logo to better match the design direction elsewhere. The old compass-style logo was feeling busy and dated, so we opted for something simplified and bright. (Fun fact: The client likes the new logo so much he had a logo decal made for his vehicle.)

Subtle-but-brilliant scroll animations are featured throughout the site to add visual interest and sophistication, while the revamped logo’s vivid blue is well employed to highlight calls to action and other important clickable features. Negative and white space play critical roles throughout this design, adding structure to each page and bringing attention to important content areas.
