Washington Coalition Advocates for Outdoors on New Website!

The beauty of the outdoors featured on the Washington Coalitions new site nearly advocates for itself!

Started in 1989 by two former Washington state Governors, the Coalition is a non-profit bipartisan group that advocates for Washington's outdoors. From advocation for State Parks to preservation of forest and farmland, to the creation of new local and state parks, the coalition advocates for state and federal funding for parks, wildlife habitat, and working lands across Washington State. To date, the Coalition has successfully leveraged over $1.3 billion in state, local, and private dollars through the WWRP grant program for over 1,200 parks, trails, wildlife habitat, and working lands projects throughout the state of Washington.

Design Needs

Being a group thats cause is literally the outdoors, WWRC came to us with some beautiful imagery to work with to build their site around. Their previous website was not very interactive and didn't allow for the display of the beautiful imagery. Our designers were able to work with the Coalition to create a site that was informational while at the same time was appealing and eye-catching. The inclusion of pictures allowed for the brand of WWRC to be consistent and really show their purpose in a unique way; the beautiful wildlife imagery literally works as an advocate for itself. Another unique aspect of the website was integrating PRISM into our system. This is a tracking system to display the projects throughout the Coalitions system that can be filtered by county, legistlative district, and project type category. This is easily found by a "Projects Near You," and is then seamlessly integrated into the site. The design of the website also creates clear calls to action for those hoping to be involved whether it's through volunteering or donations, a crucial aspect of a website for a non-profit.
