During the redesign of the Altus Alliance website, we knew it was important to capture all of this—and more.
Website Design and Development Successes
Prior to Altus approaching our team, they already had a number of offline business development strategy efforts in place and a solid history of client success—what they really needed was a website to complement those efforts and elicit conversions from web traffic.
Their previous website design was dated and they were ready to replace it with a responsive, cutting-edge revamp that could simultaneously drive their inbound marketing and lead generation efforts.
Our first task in modernizing the website was refreshing the logo. To this end, we used “airier” letter spacing, a modern font, and brighter (but still on-brand) colors to reduce the “heaviness" of the logo in the website’s header.
From there, our focus turned to rejigging the site architecture to make navigating quick, easy, and intuitive. Part of this effort involved reworking and simplifying the content, ensuring that critical message points could be read loud and clear while also conveying key info about the Altus partners and their skillsets. Our team separated Altus’s services into definable buckets targeting their primary unique audience groups—investors and companies—to make it easier for users to find important information.
We also incorporated streamlined header navigation into the design, placing links to secondary content in an easy-to-reach hamburger menu; this allowed us to both highlight the website’s main content and clean up its overall appearance.
Thematically, the Altus team wanted to avoid overuse of “stuffy,” office-centric stock photos, expressing preference for adventurous imagery that speaks to ascension and achievement. With a number of Altus’s partners passionate about mountain climbing and the outdoors, opting for photos centered on hiking and being active seemed a natural fit, particularly since these innately communicate their guiding objective of “leading companies to the top.”
Another feature of the website redesign that separates the Altus website from those of other consulting firms is the use of full-screen scrolling with split-page elements. These create a highly unique homepage experience and tie perfectly into the theme of “climbing”—or ascending—to the top of a given company’s revenue potential.
Lastly, our team updated the copy for the partner biographies, featuring a balance of both traditional and “punchy” details. We designed and developed the profile detail pages with easy customization in mind, allowing each partner to grow and personalize their profile as desired. Most importantly, we designed and developed a slider of other Related Partners at the bottom of each profile page, making navigating between profiles a cinch. Call-to-action buttons inviting users to “Start Your Revenue Growth” cap off the profile design and create opportunities for more website conversions.
